As a native Texan, Ivey has seen many changes over his hometown of Southlake since the late 60's. He attended Carroll ISD from Kindergarten through his freshman year. He then transferred his sophomore year and graduated from LD Bell High School in Hurst concentrating on Acting and Theatre.

Ivey began wood working when he was 12 years old, wood scrolling and wood crafting with a band saw and still enjoys it today as a home-based business under The Wood Wizard and Pixie Stop with his wife and high school sweetheart, Jessica. They have 5 children, all grown up and out on their own. Both he and Jessica attend Gateway Church.

Ivey also played the bass guitar and vocals beginning in his high school and college years and still enjoys it today in his local band, The D-Man Band, consisting mostly of all Carroll Alumni.

Ivey received a BFA in Photography and Voice-Over Performance from UNT in Denton. After college, he was hired as a salesman at The Men's Wearhouse. Never having had retail experience, Ivey excelled and climbed through the ranks of assistant manager, operations manager and eventually store manager and was one of the top sellers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area for 15 years.

Since then, Ivey has worked for various places in sales but was never content. In the Spring of 2021, he was encouraged by a high school friend to get into real estate. He received his Texas Real Estate license and eventually partnered with eXp Realty. He looks forward to a prosperous and successful business relationship with eXp Realty for many years to come.
